Founded in 1979, we acquired the business for a second time in 2014 having invested in Open GI between 2006 and 2007.

Building a technology leader
Open GI has the most modern and technologically robust software platform in the market thanks to the acquisition of cloud-based broker software provider TGSL in 2017.
Open GI’s growth strategy is centred on growing organically focusing on electronic trading services, product improvements and price increases.
Our initial partnership
During our first partnership with Open GI (between 2006 and 2007):
- Open GI completed the acquisition of Mi – a technology solutions provider to brokers and insurers operating in the Lloyd’s market. This acquisition gave Open GI greater access to the general commercial insurance market and enabled existing customers to access it more easily
- The company’s sales and margin improvement continued
Following the acquisition of Mi, Montagu was approached by Towergate Insurance and a sale was completed in 2007.
